Former President Donald Trump was hit with three new additional charges in special counsel Jack Smith’s classified documents investigation.
Additional charges for alleged obstruction and willful retention of national defense information were added to the indictment Thursday evening by Smith, the special counsel appointed by Attorney General Merrick Garland.
The superseding indictment coincided with the naming of a third defendant in the case, Carlos De Oliveria, who is the head of maintenance at Mar-a-Lago.
This is a developing story and will be updated.
