Boxing great Floyd Mayweather Jr. claims he witnessed the fatal shooting of rapper Tupac Shakur but denies he knows who is responsible.
Shakur was shot on Sept. 7, 1996, while on his way to Club 662 in Las Vegas, which was owned by Suge Knight of Death Row Records.

While sitting in his vehicle, a white Cadillac pulled up alongside the car, and an individual inside began firing into the passenger’s side.
The rapper was hit at least four times before he was rushed to the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada, according to a report.
Shakur succumbed to his wounds and died six days after the shooting.
The claim that Mayweather Jr. witnessed the death resurfaced as a result of a July 18 search warrant, which produced a video of the boxer telling friends that he lived close to where the fatal shooting took place, the report noted.
“The car pulled up and shot Tupac,” Mayweather said as he walked through the area, according to the video.
“Car pulled right here and shot Tupac at this light. Car went that way. I was living right here in 1996 when Tupac got killed. Right here — I ain’t never told nobody. Only the close people with me know.”
The murder of Shakur remains shrouded in mystery, and a search warrant connected to the killing was recently executed by the Las Vegas Police Department.

The warrant was tied to Duane “Keffe D” Davis, who is reportedly the uncle of Orlando “Baby Lane” Anderson, the individual suspected of shooting the rapper shortly following the incident.
Several computers, documents, a magazine featuring Shakur, a hard drive, “purported marijuana,” ammunition, and Davis’s 2019 memoir were recovered by police.
