Even Democrats aren’t buying transgenderism in sports

It is extremely difficult to convince normal, everyday people that allowing men to compete in women’s sports is not just acceptable and fair, but necessary and “affirming.” Activist Democrats and their media allies are still trying, though, even as everyday Democrats reject the concept.
Time’s politics newsletter detailed just how brutal the public opinion landscape is for Democrats and transgender activists when it comes to the issue of sports. The percentage of people who think transgender athletes should play on the teams that match their biology has jumped from 62% two years ago to 69% now, with support for men playing women’s sports dropping from 34% to 26%.

That decay is present among Democrats as well, who have dropped from a 55%-41% approval of men playing women’s sports two years ago to a 48%-47% flip in favor of limiting sports to biology. Democratic politicians are losing the debate to the point that Time complains that the Biden administration isn’t fighting hard enough on the issue.
So what do leading Democrats and the transgender activists in the media do? Time wants to “be clear” that men and boys taking scholarships, records, and roster spots from women and girls in sports is a problem that doesn’t exist. The liberal line is that Republicans are winning because of emotions, not facts. Also, that the transgender population is relatively small, and Republicans are driving “trans kids” to suicide.
It’s all utter nonsense. We’ve seen female athletes deprived of championship opportunities and records. We’ve seen female athletes injured in contact and non-contact sports playing against male athletes. The facts here are that boys and men are faster, stronger, and more athletic than their female counterparts. This is obvious to anyone who watches an NBA game compared to a WNBA game, or even opens a basic biology textbook.
And, dare I say that accusing Republicans of being responsible for suicides among a population that is disproportionately suicidal before and after sex change surgeries (because of the mental health issues that accompany their gender dysphoria) is the only emotional argument being made in defiance of facts here?

Time and others who take up the transgender activist movement have to be frantic on the issue of women’s sports, though. Sports offer the clearest illustration that transgenderism is based on the lie that men and women are exactly the same and that biological sex does not exist or matter. It shows that a man cannot just “identify” as a woman and make it so.
That is why everyday Democrats aren’t biting on it, and that is why Democratic politicians and media outlets like Time are so worried about transgender ideology unraveling and showing just how irresponsible they were in destroying women’s spaces and foisting irreversible sex changes on children and adults alike.
