Washington Examiner investigative reporter Sarah Bedford stated Wednesday that Hunter Biden’s court appearance “corroborates” what two Internal Revenue Service whistleblowers have recently stated.
Bedford’s comment came after Hunter Biden, President Joe Biden’s son, pleaded “not guilty” in court following Judge Maryellen Noreika in Delaware saying she was not ready to accept a plea deal after the prosecution revealed the investigation was ongoing. Only a week ago, a pair of IRS agents testified in Congress, where they stated that they were denied access by prosecutors to information found on Hunter Biden’s laptop.
HUNTER BIDEN PLEA DEAL COLLAPSES IN COURT AS JUDGE THROWS ‘CURVEBALL’
“I think everything that we saw happen in that courtroom today corroborates [what] the whistleblowers have said, so has every piece of documentary evidence, so has some of the anonymous testimony from FBI officials, which is that this case was handled improperly by the U.S. attorney’s office, that the Biden family received preferential treatment at every step,” Bedford said during an appearance on Fox News.

Bedford added that the judge who rejected Hunter Biden’s plea deal was not “a partisan Republican” who was “trying to score points for Republicans,” as the judge has donated money to former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. Bedford stated that what happened in the courtroom “absolutely verifies” allegations that U.S. Attorney David Weiss did not handle the case on Hunter Biden properly.
Noreika is a Delaware federal district judge and was an appointee of former President Donald Trump. She had bipartisan support for her appointment and the support of both Democratic home-state senators.
A week ago, two IRS agents, Gary Shapley and Joe Ziegler, testified in front of the House Oversight Committee, where Shapley stated that Ziegler had requested access to the laptop in a meeting with investigators and was told they weren’t going to be given access to it as part of their investigation into Biden.

According to Shapley, federal prosecutor Lesley Wolf told Ziegler that the lack of access to information on Hunter Biden’s laptop was because “prosecutors decided not to give it to you all.”
The investigation was also hindered when a request for a search warrant of Joe Biden’s guest house, where Hunter Biden had been staying, was denied. They were blocked from executing a search warrant at the guest house because Wolf believed it would cause bad optics, they testified.
