DeSantis involved in car crash in Tennessee

Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) was involved in a car crash while traveling to an event in Chattanooga, Tennessee, with no injuries to DeSantis or his team.
Bryan Griffin, press secretary for DeSantis’s presidential campaign, confirmed the incident on Tuesday morning to the Washington Examiner.

“This morning, the governor was in a car accident while traveling to an event in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He and his team are uninjured. We appreciate the prayers and well wishes of the nation for his continued protection while on the campaign trail,” Griffin said in a statement.
DeSantis has been traveling across the country in the past week, speaking in Utah last weekend and heading to Iowa at the end of this week.
At the campaign stop in Utah, the Florida governor received endorsements from several leaders in the Beehive State’s legislature, including Utah Senate President Stuart Adams.
DeSantis is scheduled to speak at the Iowa GOP Lincoln Day Dinner on Friday in Des Moines, as the campaign is reportedly retooling itself amid the struggle to gain ground in the GOP primary field. The first Republican presidential debate is in less than a month.

On Monday, the Florida governor received an endorsement from Florida Police Chiefs Association, who made its first presidential endorsement ever in 2020 of then-President Donald Trump. The endorsement pickup for DeSantis marks the second law enforcement group to go from endorsing Trump in 2020 to the Florida governor for 2024.
In the Republican presidential primary, Trump is leading the other candidates by a significant margin, with DeSantis firmly in second ahead of the other candidates who are behind the two Florida men.
