Robert F. Kennedy Jr. made efforts to distance himself from Del. Stacey Plaskett’s (D-VI) attempt to tie the Democratic presidential candidate to former President Donald Trump.

Kennedy got into an argument with Plaskett, the ranking member of the House weaponization committee, during a hearing on Thursday after she claimed he was aligned with “MAGA Republicans.”

“The MAGA Republicans know that Trump benefits when Russia interferes. The same super PAC that supports Mr. Kennedy and has raised significant funds on his behalf is run by a man named Jason Boles,” Plaskett said.

“Jason Boles isn’t just a MAGA supporter. He also ran the super PAC for MAGA Republicans Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lauren Boebert, George Santos, and in 2022, he supported Herschel Walker. So, the person behind Mr. Kennedy’s super PAC is an individual who personally and professionally wants the Republican Party to succeed. Yet, Mr. Kennedy is running as a Democrat,” she added.

At the end of the hearing, Kennedy attempted to respond to her accusation, but Plaskett insisted that he was out of time and the hearing was over. Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) overruled Plaskett, contending that he had not adjourned the hearing, and let Kennedy respond.

“I’ve just been told that that super PAC is connected to somebody that we have a connection to. It’s not a super PAC that I’ve endorsed, and it’s not one that I’ve ever heard of,” Kennedy said.
