The Republican National Committee invited a popular conservative podcast to host a pregame show ahead of the primary debate in August.
The Ruthless Podcast is hosted by Twitter personality Comfortably Smug, alongside former Mitch McConnell chief of staff Josh Holmes, his fellow founding partner at conservative public relations firm Cavalry Michael Duncan, and John Ashbrook.

The show, which boasts 3 million listeners, will host a special “College GameDay”-esque episode in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, before the Aug. 23 primary debate.
“We’re excited to have a special live edition of [Ruthless] in Milwaukee. The fellas have grown a tremendous platform, and we look forward to bringing that influence and attention to Rumble and our first primary debate,” RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said in a statement to Axios.
The Ruthless Podcast confirmed the news, tweeting an article and saying, “HUGE NEWS See you in Milwaukee!”

The primary debate has been the subject of controversy as candidates campaign for the GOP nomination. One of the requirements to debate is a loyalty pledge, in which candidates must agree to support the eventual nominee. The pledge has been met with skepticism by several candidates, but most have said they will sign it.
Further, the primary race’s front-runner, former President Donald Trump, has yet to say whether he will attend the debate. McDaniel said on Wednesday that not attending the debate would be “a mistake” for Trump.
