Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) either doesn’t believe or can’t fathom that black people can be antisemitic, because his racially warped worldview prevents him from recognizing that all people are capable of hatred.

As part of his defense of both Rep. Pramila Jayapal’s (D-WA) antisemitic comments and his own track record on Israel, Bowman haughtily asserted, “I’m a black man in America — how the hell can I be antisemitic toward anybody else? I know what it is to suffer and be oppressed and be threatened and killed because of who you are.”

NO SPECIAL TAX BREAKS FOR WEALTHY BLUE STATE REPUBLICANS

Bowman can accurately be described as antisemitic. He holds Israel, the only Jewish state in the world, to a different standard than all other countries, which is part of the definition of antisemitism used by the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance and recognized by the U.S. State Department. Bowman falsely claimed that Israel is “occupying” Gaza while he “strongly rejects” rhetoric that is too harsh toward the Chinese Communist Party.

But let’s ignore Bowman’s own history and look at his assertion again: “I’m a black man in America — how the hell can I be antisemitic toward anybody else?” It could be a legitimate question, given the idea from race-obsessed liberals that black people can’t be racist because they lack “institutional power.” It is utter nonsense, but it appears that Bowman means it in a rhetorical way. “I know what it is to suffer and be oppressed,” he said, so how can he then be an “oppressor”?

Well, we could ask Louis Farrakhan, the Nation of Islam leader who is a loud and proud antisemite and has been for decades. There is an element of dark humor in knowing that the New York Times ran a headline way back in 1984 stating “Farrakhan Again Describes Hitler as a ‘Very Great Man'” (emphasis added). Jamaal Bowman was eight years old when that headline ran. The idea that a black man could be antisemitic is not some new, revolutionary idea.

It isn’t limited to black people either, obviously. A person of any race can be antisemitic, just as a person of any race can be racist. Hate is not exclusive to any race. It is a failure of a person and a stain on their soul. All people are equally capable of the kind of hatred based on who someone is that results in racism and antisemitism.

Bowman and other liberals don’t believe that, though, because their worldview has been completely warped. That is why antisemite Al Sharpton is still a Democratic Party idol and a regular feature on MSNBC. It’s why Bowman allies himself with Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), who openly peddles antisemitic tropes, while Democrats whine about “dog whistles” every time a Republican breathes.

Bowman doesn’t understand that he is just as capable of racism or antisemitism as anyone else because he believes his skin color makes him immune from such evils. It is delusional, wrong, and regrettably all too common among liberals these days.
