The federal government is spending over $3 million in taxpayers’ money to fund research on expanding access to gender transition operations for minors, according to a report from the Daily Wire. It’s a gross mismanagement of funds, an example of government overreach, and was rightfully condemned by Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY).

The National Institutes of Health agreed to provide over $3 million to the Boston Children’s Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital between September 2021 and August 31, 2023, the Daily Wire reported. The agreement stipulated that the funds would be used to “expand the local workforce of gender-affirming care providers” and “advance equity and reduce mental health disparities for TGD youth through … systemic changes that increase access to gender-affirming care.” It’s the latest example of the Biden administration implementing radical gender ideology that endangers the country’s youth.

Sens. Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Ted Budd (R-NC) joined Paul in his concern. Ever the fiscal hawk, Paul has been an outspoken critic of how the government recklessly spends its money for years. But now, this criticism was amplified due to the severe nature of harming young people through what amounts to be dangerous medical experiments being used because of some misguided adherence to social justice.

“As a senator and a physician, I am deeply concerned about the NIH’s use of taxpayer money to fund dangerous and controversial youth transgender research. The well-being of our youth is of utmost importance, and subjecting them to harmful and experimental medical procedures is unacceptable,” Paul said in a statement.

The latest rebuke comes on the heels of a report from May in which it was revealed the NIH conducted a study on “experimental medical interventions for youth who claim to identify as transgender. Two youths from the study committed suicide, 11 others experienced suicide ideation,” and the drugs the participants were given in the study will “likely sterilize them,” according to the report.

That study involved 315 people who identified as nonbinary and transgender, according to the Daily Signal. Over two years, children between 12 and 20 were given “gender-affirming hormones” and monitored by doctors and other medical professionals. Of the 315 participants, 240 were minors, the Daily Signal reported.

“I sent a letter with my fellow Senators and Representatives to address our grave concerns regarding a study funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in which two young people tragically died by suicide,” Paul tweeted in May. “As a senator and a physician, I am deeply concerned about the NIH’s use of taxpayer money to fund dangerous and controversial youth transgender research. The well-being of our youth is of utmost importance and subjecting them to harmful and experimental medical procedures is unacceptable.”

The federal government has become a mad scientist using children as experimental objects to advance radical and dangerous medical procedures. Such horrible things happen under the guise of the “trans” movement, and it’s endangering our country’s young people. Paul courageously spoke out against this dangerous and reckless spending. Now, it is time for every politician and legislator in the country to join him. No child deserves to suffer in any way because of rogue social justice medical practices.
