MTG blasts ‘Squad’ member for approving funding for ‘Nazi’ Ukrainian army

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) blasted “Squad” member Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO) for her support of sending money to Ukraine’s military, which she described as “Nazi.”
Greene was responding to a tweet from Bush that criticized the celebration of the Fourth of July and the founding of the United States due to the existence of slavery at the time of the United States’s independence. Greene implied that Bush was a hypocrite because she supported sending money to the “Nazi army of Ukraine.”

“Just stop,” Greene tweeted at Bush. “You voted to send $113 Billion to the white people and white Nazi army of Ukraine.”

Greene appeared to be referring to the entire Ukrainian military as Nazis, rather than only certain segments, as she and some other conservatives in Congress have done. Her Tuesday tweet appears to be her biggest denunciation of aid to Ukraine yet, though she has been a consistent critic since the Russian invasion in February 2022.
Last week, Greene tweeted that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has a “Nazi army” but didn’t specify whether she was referring to the Ukrainian military as a whole or only certain formations.
“Somehow this makes so much sense from the actor wearing army green everyday, fully funded by U.S. warmongers, and who just recently canceled elections, controls his state media, and has a Nazi army,” she tweeted alongside a video of climate activist Greta Thunberg meeting with Zelensky.

Greene’s stance on aid to Ukraine has caused a rift in the Republican Party because it contrasts with House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and most other congressional Republicans’ adamant support.
Last week, Greene co-sponsored Rep. Matt Gaetz’s (R-FL) Ukraine Fatigue Resolution, which would call for an end to all aid to Ukraine and push for a peace deal. She was joined by Reps. Andy Biggs (R-AZ), Lauren Boebert (R-CO), Paul Gosar (R-AZ), Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL), Thomas Massie (R-KY), Mary Miller (R-IL), Barry Moore (R-AL), Ralph Norman (R-SC), and Matt Rosendale (R-MT).
