Man arrested in fatal shooting of rapper Takeoff

A man has been arrested after the fatal shooting of Migos rap group member Takeoff in Houston.

Police arrested Patrick Xavier Clark, 33, and charged him with murder in connection to Takeoff’s death. Police Chief Troy Finner said Clark was peaceful at the time of arrest.

Takeoff, 28, was shot dead outside a bowling alley in Houston at around 2:30 a.m. local time on Nov. 1. Fellow Migos rapper Quavo was also present at the scene, per multiple reports.

Houston police said at least two people opened fire, resulting in Takeoff’s death and another man and woman getting injured with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

Police Sgt. Michael Burrow said during a press conference on Friday that officers determined the shooting occurred after a dispute over a game of dice. He also said, however, that Takeoff was an “innocent bystander” and not involved in the dispute.
