U.S. Soccer star Christian Pulisic is clear to play in the United States round 16 game against the Netherlands Saturday, the USMNT tweeted Friday.
Pulisic suffered a pelvic contusion Tuesday when he scored the game-winning goal in the United States’s crucial 1-0 win against Iran in the team’s final group stage.

The 24-year-old Pennsylvania native’s goal lifted his team into the knockout stage of the 2022 World Cup and set up a date with a reported flu-ridden Dutch team.
The injury he suffered saw him leave the field, but the star felt good and ready to train, according to U.S. head coach Gregg Berhalter.
“With Christian, we’re hopeful,” Berhalter said.
“At this stage, it’s go time. If you can push through it, you do. So, I’m sure he’ll have that mindset.”
Pulisic is looking forward to the opportunity to show Americans at home what this World Cup team can do at the highest level.
“I hope people watching, especially back home in the States, can [say], ‘Wow, these guys are really giving everything for each other, for this country,'” he said.
“That’s what really makes this special,” he continued. “You know, you can see all the individual talent. You have guys playing at top clubs across the world, but without the brotherhood and without this family aspect, we wouldn’t be in this position. I hope that is what everyone can see.”
