A black reverend made a plea to the black community to leave the Democratic Party during Friday’s Faith and Freedom Coalition Conference.

Rev. John K. Amanchukwu Sr. gave the opening prayer to the second day of this year’s conference, titled “Road to Majority,” and later took the podium to point out the one-year anniversary of the Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, which was met with applause at the conservative conference. Amanchukwu wrote a book titled “Eraced: Uncovering the Lies of Critical Race Theory and Abortion” and is a Turning Point USA contributor.

“I’ve come to tell you today that there is an intentional attack up on the black community, and black America needs to wise up and open our eyes and see that we are being used as expendable to those on the left who want to use us and abuse us,” Amanchukwu said to more applause.

“Blacks have become the cheap prostitutes of the Democrat Party,” he went on, which was met with groans and some applause.”They screw us and barely pay us, and we keep coming back for more. I’m asking for people to open up your eyes and see what’s going on and recognize that we are being killed, we are being lied to, and they are pushing lies to blacks.”

The chyron introducing Amanchukwu, broadcast by CSPAN, read that he was a “preacher” and an “activist.”

The conference also hosted 2024 Republican presidential candidates former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson, former Vice President Mike Pence, and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, among other conservative figures. Former President Donald Trump spoke at last year’s conference.
