Democrat Stacey Plaskett says Trump needs to be ‘shot — stopped’

Del. Stacey Plaskett (D-VI) is under fire after she slipped up Sunday and said former President Donald Trump “needs to be shot — stopped.”
Plaskett, a nonvoting member of Congress, made the error while speaking about Trump’s document investigation on MSNBC.

“Having Trump, not only have had the codes but now having the classified information for Americans and being able to put that out and share it in his resort with anyone and everyone who comes through should be terrifying to all Americans,” she said.
“He needs to be shot — stopped.”
Conservatives were quick to pounce on the slip.
“Quite the Freudian slip from Stacey Plaskett: Trump ‘needs to be shot — stopped,'” one Twitter user commented.
“Make no mistake, this was no slip of the tongue,” another user tweeted.
“This is truly how democrats/the left feel.”
“Democrat lawmaker House of Rep @StaceyPlaskett calls for President Trump to be shot!! Why is this crazed lunatic not be arrested?” one user tweeted.

Plaskett has argued Trump was “singularly responsible” for the events of the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, according to a report, and she served as an impeachment manager in the 2021 case against the 45th president.
