Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny tops Spotify Wrapped 2022 for third consecutive year

Rapper Bad Bunny was the most-streamed artist globally, according to Spotify Wrapped 2022, repeating his record since 2020.

Bad Bunny, whose birth name is Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio, saw his songs streamed over 18.5 million times this year on the platform. An album he released this year, Un Verano Sin Ti, was the most streamed album globally. His song “Me Porto Bonito” was the fourth-most streamed song, behind Harry Styles’s “As It Was” at No. 1, Glass Animals’s “Heat Waves,” and The Kid Laroi’s “STAY.”

The rapper has won seven Grammys, four American Music Awards, and one Video Music Award. Since reaching Spotify acclaim in 2020, Bad Bunny has also acted in three movies, including My Spy, Fast and Furious 6: The Fast Saga, and Bullet Train.

Following Bad Bunny were Taylor Swift, Drake, The Weeknd, and BTS. All but The Weeknd released albums this year. Drake was the most-streamed artist in the United States.

The Joe Rogan Experience topped the list for the most-streamed podcast in the world on Spotify. Call Her Daddy was second, followed by Anything Goes with Emma Chamberlain, Case 63 (All Languages), and Crime Junkie.
