WATCH: Chevy Chase lights up Raising Cane’s in Christmas Vacation moment

In a callback to his famous role of Clark Griswold in National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, actor and comedian Chevy Chase had the honor of plugging in the extravagant Christmas lights at a Raising Cane’s restaurant.
The large, festive crowd applauded after Chase plugged the lights in at one of the fast food chain’s Chicago suburb locations.

The restaurant reportedly had 13,000 lights, mimicking Griswold’s over-the-top Christmas lights in the classic movie, as well as a Santa Claus, reindeer, and sleigh.
Raising Cane’s CEO Todd Graves accompanied the veteran actor during the event. The two then entered a wood-paneled Ford Taurus Wagon with a Christmas tree strapped to the top in another nod to the classic holiday film and drove away.

Hundreds gathered to watch Chase reenact his famous role Raising-Cane’s style, according to reports.
The movie, originally released in 1989, earned $11,750,203 in the United States during its opening weekend. The movie and its rereleases ultimately garnered $74,382,091 worldwide.
