The House Rules Committee is holding a hearing Monday afternoon on two bills aimed at preventing bans on gas stoves after President Joe Biden’s administration proposed energy-efficiency and conservation standards for household appliances earlier this year.

The Biden administration proposed energy-efficient standards this year for residential gas furnaces through the Department of Energy as part of an effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

The committee will also hear legislation about the congressional review process. The Separation of Powers Restoration Act of 2023 examines the scope of judicial review, and the REINS Act of 2023 explores Congress’s legislative authority.

The hearing is set to begin at 2:45 p.m. ET.
