Gov. Gavin Newsom’s (D-CA) deranged ramblings about red states (while he ignores the troubles in his own state) are becoming increasingly ludicrous, especially given that those states still perform better than California on his own terms.

On Wednesday, Newsom provided a real gem, alleging that the “far-right” is “trying to eliminate the existence of minority communities.” Newsom’s comments may be delusional and inflammatory, but they are also head-scratching, because the red states that Newsom typically paints as far-right villains are far more diverse than his own.

THE US MUST TURN UP THE HEAT ON TURKEY’S ERDOGAN

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, California’s population is 6.5% black. Texas and Florida, the two states Newsom rants against the most, double that number: Texas is 13.2% black, and Florida is 17% black. On top of that, Texas and California are equally Hispanic at 40.2%, while Florida “only” has a Hispanic population of 26.8%. Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) also won Latinos in his 2022 reelection campaign by 18 points, so it’s not like that is a number Florida is trying to shrink either.

In fact, the only minority racial group California beats both states on is Asians, a group that has seen a surge of hate crimes against it in tolerant California over the past several years. You may recall that liberals are also targeting Asians in school admissions, both in California cities such as San Francisco and institutions of higher education, because Asians are bad for “diversity.”

So, not only are Florida and Texas incredibly diverse, but it turns out that California is trying to “eliminate the existence of minority communities” in merit-based schools and higher education. Funny how that works, isn’t it?

While Newsom regurgitates the weakest left-wing talking points on Twitter, the fact remains that he is jealous. Florida and Texas have been the most successful states in population growth over the last several years, while Newsom oversaw California losing a congressional seat due to declining population for the first time in the state’s 170-year history in the 2020 census.

Gavin Newsom has no interest in solving California’s problems, given that he is now term-limited after running for reelection. He is obsessed with jumping to the national stage (either in 2024 or 2028) and therefore has turned to bashing states that are far more successful than his to win liberal praise, no matter how absurd the claims he needs to make and how divorced from reality they are.
