Trump’s unhinged and unnecessary attack on Kayleigh McEnany

Former President Donald Trump was beloved by his supporters for standing up to his political opponents and not backing down against attacks or criticism. His penchant to, as many said, “take no crap” from anyone was a welcomed relief to many GOP voters. It was a characteristic that many had been searching for in a Republican for decades. But now, Trump has changed. He went from aggressively defending his beliefs to seemingly just viciously degrading anyone he thinks somehow slighted him.
Consider Trump’s latest target of misplaced aggression, his former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany. And what was McEnany’s unforgivable sin? She allegedly broadcasted incorrect poll numbers on Fox News — incorrect (by the way) according to Trump, not the poll. Trump took to Truth Social to belittle his former presidential spokeswoman.
BIDEN IS LOSING THE GLOBAL SEMICONDUCTOR RACE
“Kayleigh ‘Milktoast’ McEnany just gave out the wrong poll numbers on Fox News. I am 34 points up on DeSanctimonious, not 25 up. While 25 is great, it’s not 34,” Trump “truthed” on his social media platform. “She knew the number was corrected upwards by the group that did the poll. The RINOS and Globalists can have her. Fox News should only use REAL Stars!!!”
Trump’s comments are just unfathomably stupid. His ire stems from supposedly being incorrect on poll numbers. As a result, Kayleigh McEnany is now a RINO and globalist. This type of stuff turns off voters from Trump, causes people to stop supporting him, and leaves many hesitant to trust anything he says or does. Moreover, McEnany was chosen by Trump to be his press secretary. Even if he was correct about her not “being a star,” it would be yet another poor personnel decision from a president who has a long history of them. Absolutely nothing good can come from such a stupid attack.
Trump’s comments about McEnany were uncalled for. He looks like a cantankerous old man who cannot control his emotions. It’s one thing to belittle a former ally-turned-presidential election rival like Ron DeSantis. It’s another thing to demean his former press secretary, a woman who defended him at every turn and took unrelenting criticism for doing so, as a RINO and globalist for announcing poll numbers that Trump disagrees with.

Once again, Trump commits a self-inflicted wound and sabotages himself. He is simultaneously the iceberg and the sinking ship. McEnany was a political shield for Trump when he was in office and one of his biggest allies and ardent defenders. So Trump rewards her by dogging her on social media? As if something like this will win him support and voters?
There’s absolutely no chance of that happening. This behavior will have the opposite effect and turn people off from him. With ludicrous comments like this, Trump is not bringing himself closer to being in the White House again. Instead, he is proving to all his opponents, critics, and detractors that they were right about him.
