Gov. Chris Sununu (R-NH), who has been teasing a presidential run that no one is really asking for, thinks Republicans should just disregard the “culture war.” Alas, he is completely clueless. You can ignore the culture war all you like, but it will not ignore you.

Sununu said GOP candidates should be focused on inflation and that campaigns “can’t be just about a culture war.” He said this on The View and agreed with Sunny Hostin that Republicans were “attacking” transgender people and were trying to prevent people from learning African American history.

WHITE HOUSE NOT BUDGING ON WORK REQUIREMENTS, CAUSING AN IMPASSE IN NEGOTIATIONS

A word of advice for GOP candidates now and in the future: If you find yourself on The View agreeing with Sunny Hostin’s smears against your party while the liberal crowd applauds, you are doing something wrong.

Sununu, of course, wants to be a beloved Republican in establishment media, even though those same hosts on The View or the other liberal shows he appears on would relentlessly attack him if he miraculously managed to become the GOP nominee for president. Sununu is preaching to them, the liberals who want conservatives to stand down in the culture wars, not to the people actually living through the consequences of the liberal intrusions on daily life.

Democrats and liberal activists are trying to force children into sex change surgeries, to the point that they are now encouraging children to run away from home for sex change procedures and saying the government will not contact their parents. Democratic and liberal activists want to force critical race theory into schools and teach children that their skin color alone defines them.

The liberal push to destroy religious freedom has continued apace, and establishment media still are whipping up mobs to destroy the lives of random private citizens to uphold their racist dogma. Liberal racial and gender ideology is being foisted upon people at their jobs, at their children’s schools, and in every other facet of their life.

Sununu, basking in the cheers of the crowd of a show that hates half the country, wants you just to ignore it.

Maybe Sununu missed the fact that the GOP positions and policies on cultural topics are popular. Maybe he doesn’t realize you can talk about both the “culture war” and inflation. Maybe he just doesn’t care. The only thing we can know from his comments is that he is clueless. He does not know or understand the current state of the GOP or the country at large.

Republicans didn’t start the culture war, but they now only have two choices. They can fight to win and finish it, or they can surrender. The Republicans who choose the second path, as Sununu has, are free to enjoy the comfort of liberal media because the GOP presidential primary isn’t for them.
