Christmas classic It’s a Wonderful Life returns to theaters for 75th anniversary

As Christmas approaches, Turner Classic Movies is bringing one holiday favorite back to the big screen for its 75th anniversary.

Frank Capra’s It’s a Wonderful Life, starring Jimmy Stewart, captured the hearts of people across the globe when it opened in 1946.

Since its release, the film has become a Christmas favorite, raking in millions of viewers despite being decades old and in black and white. In 2021, more than 3 million tuned in to NBC on Christmas Eve to watch the classic movie.

On Dec. 18 and Dec. 21, TCM Big Screen Classics is presenting the movie once again so fans can follow George Bailey on a heartwarming adventure throughout his life, where he realizes the effect he’s had on his community and family.

Local theaters across the country will play the movie, allowing fans to see the Christmas classic on the big screen.
