Nicki Minaj teased as new White House press secretary: Steven Cheung

Iconic rapper Nicki Minaj is being teased as a possible replacement for the position of White House press secretary.

White House Communications Director Steven Cheung posted a clip on X of Minaj discussing President Donald Trump’s tenure and success as a businessman.

The video included a caption from Cheung stating: “Ladies and gentlemen, I think we may have found the new White House Press Secretary! @NICKIMINAJ.”

The rapper was seated at a table with Cheung, explaining why she believed the president could help the United States. Minaj said the president was “tough” when it came to foreign policy, and that he “outworks people who are half his age.”

“We have a president that understands economics, first of all,” Minaj said in the video. “You know, I’ve said before that the president is naturally a businessman. He’s worked his way out of not having a dollar left in the bank. So, if he can do that with himself, and his own finances, surely he knows what to do with the country.”

The White House is in need of a new press secretary after the resignation of Karoline Leavitt, who left the role to support her family. The position was briefly filled by Katie Zacharia, who was ousted in less than a week on the job. The briefing concluded after 14 minutes, with only a few reporters’ questions taken.

Zacharia’s rocky debut during a press briefing led to immediate criticism, as well as probes into her legal background. She has referred to herself as an attorney, but reports alleged she never passed the bar exam, a requirement to be sworn in.

RAP PHENOM NICKI MINAJ TO RALLY ALONGSIDE TRUMP IN METRO DETROIT SUNDAY

A GOP strategist told the Washington Examiner that Zacharia was becoming “a distraction.”

Minaj has become an ally to the president, and is expected to appear alongside Trump in Michigan during a rally as the midterm elections approach. There’s been no official announcement on a new White House press secretary.
