President Donald Trump will hold a campaign rally Friday afternoon in Dalton, Georgia, to boost Rep. Mike Collins (R-GA) in his bid to unseat incumbent Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-GA).
Trump is scheduled to land at Dobbins Air Reserve Base in Cobb County before traveling north to Whitfield County for the rally, beginning at 3 p.m. EDT at Dalton Municipal Airport. Trump will appear with Collins and Republican gubernatorial nominee Rick Jackson, the first time Jackson and Collins have publicly appeared together.
The stop comes with 18 days remaining until Election Day on Nov. 3. Ossoff is the only Democratic incumbent running for a Senate seat in a state Trump won in 2024, and Collins faces an uphill climb. The Cook Political Report moved the race from “lean Democrat” to “likely Democrat” last month, a shift that makes a Republican pickup in Georgia less likely.

Ossoff has also held a commanding cash advantage. Cook has noted that Ossoff has raised an excess of funds that he is steering some of it to a coordinated campaign aimed at helping Democrats in the tighter governor’s race, where Jackson faces former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms.
Ossoff and Collins clashed in a fiery hourlong debate Oct. 8 in Atlanta, where both candidates attacked each other’s character, sparred over personal scandal allegations along with the Trump administration’s handling of affordability, data centers, Iran and immigration. Ossoff tied Collins to Trump’s tariffs and accused him of voting seven times to support the war with Iran, which he linked to rising gas prices, while Collins cast Ossoff as an out-of-touch liberal and stood by the president on both issues.
The two previously met Tuesday in their final scheduled debate, where they tangled over the Jeffrey Epstein files and the 2020 election. Collins argued Ossoff is more representative of Washington than Georgia, and suggested the senator is eyeing future political moves.
Trump’s visit follows a campaign stop in Atlanta earlier this week by Vice President JD Vance, as Republicans push to maximize turnout across north Georgia while early voting is underway. While Trump rallies in Dalton, the Democratic Party of Georgia plans to hold a news conference in Atlanta. Bottoms and Ossoff have a joint rally scheduled for Saturday evening in Cobb County.
