Nicki Minaj talks about her relationship with Trump: ‘I just love him’

.

Rap superstar Nicki Minaj said her close relationship with President Donald Trump stems from his relatability and sense of humor.

“He’s not just smart, and he’s not just the president, but he’s also just someone I can relate to, someone that, you know, every time I see him, or every time I see him speaking to other people, he’s just himself,” Minaj said on Fox News’s The Ingraham Angle Friday.

Minaj traveled to Washington, D.C., on Friday to serve as a celebrity judge for the finale of the Small Business Administration’s Million Dollar Pitch Competition.

The Shark Tank-style show, backed by the Trump administration, celebrates entrepreneurship as part of America’s 250th anniversary, according to a press release.

Minaj was also joined by SBA Administrator Kelly Loeffler for the interview.

“I am honored to be able to have an opportunity to work with this administration and to work with President Trump. He has inspired many people, not just me, and he’s fun,” Minaj said.

“He’s very grounded. It’s easy to connect with him, it’s easy to feel like he heard you, he understands you, and I just love him. And I’m not ever going to make excuses for that because I don’t know why I should.”

Minaj said she does not have specific dates in mind for when she would tour again. Minaj said she is in her “businesswoman era,” and when she goes back on tour, she will be reminding people “how blessed they are to live in this country,” and how much gets taken for granted.

Her message for critics?

“Absolutely nothing.”
