Vice President JD Vance is traveling to Iowa on Friday and will speak at 12:10 p.m. at a campaign rally organized by the Republican National Committee intended to boost GOP Senate and gubernatorial candidates in the state.
VANCE TO VISIT IOWA AFTER HOUSE REPUBLICAN WAR POWERS DEFECTIONS
The vice president will be promoting Rep. Ashley Hinson (R-IA), who is running in the toss-up Senate race to replace retiring Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA), and gubernatorial candidate Zach Lahn, who is also in a competitive race. Hinson will not attend the rally due to a scheduling conflict.
Vance visited Iowa earlier this year to campaign for Reps. Mariannette Miller-Meeks (R-IA) and Zach Nunn (R-IA), who are seeking reelection in battleground districts. Nunn and Miller-Meeks voted to restrict President Donald Trump’s war powers more than six months into the conflict with Iran on Tuesday.
