A trespasser was stopped from entering the home of former Vice President Kamala Harris on Friday night, according to a spokesperson.
“Last night, security personnel stopped an individual who illegally entered Vice President Harris and Second Gentleman [Doug] Emhoff’s property before the individual reached the home,” spokesperson Eduardo Negron said. Neither Harris nor Emhoff were home at the time.
Los Angeles sheriff’s deputies responded “to a suspicious person call for service” at the Malibu residence at approximately 10:30 p.m., according to the Hill, and a trespassing report was filed. The couple purchased the home in December 2025.
“When deputies arrived they made contact with the private security detail on the property,” LAPD said. “The individual who was outside of the property upon our arrival was warned and advised by deputies to leave the premises and left voluntarily without incident.” The individual was not arrested.
Harris received six months of Secret Service protection following the end of the Biden administration. Former President Joe Biden attempted to extend such protection to 18 months, but President Donald Trump signed an order last summer overruling Biden’s directive.

“[Harris and Emhoff] are grateful to the security and law enforcement personnel who responded swiftly,” Negron also said. The news of the incident was first reported by TMZ.
The former vice president and 2024 presidential election nominee has intermittently stumped for Democrats throughout the summer ahead of November’s midterm elections. She is often floated as a potential 2028 presidential candidate.
