The Republican National Committee released the details for the first midterm convention of its kind on Tuesday, set to take place in Dallas and featuring President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance as keynote speakers.
The event is set to take place over two nights, Sept. 9 and Sept. 10, and will cover a range of topics the GOP sees as priorities for November. RNC Chairman Joe Gruters called the event “historic” and said each hour will focus on Trump and the GOP’s agenda.
“Over two action-packed days, we will take Americans through the defining issues of our Party’s agenda and what is at stake in November,” Gruters said. “Each hour will have its own theme, its own message, and its own voices, building toward President Donald Trump’s vision for the next chapter of American greatness. This will be unlike any political convention America has seen before.”
Each day will last six hours, with Vance closing out the first night and Trump the second. The president is expected to attend both days of the convention, which begin at 4 p.m. and end at 10 p.m. and will cover over 100 topics of concern for the party. There will also be a candidate showcase each night.
According to a press release from the RNC, each hour will hammer in the message Republicans intend to send in the midterm elections as the party holds a narrow majority in both chambers of Congress.
“In 2026, the stakes could not be higher,” the committee said. “All elections offer voters a path to the future. In November, we must decide whether to take the path of steady progress or ourselves obstruction.”
The Trump policies that are scheduled to be discussed are the administration’s crackdown on fraud, tax cuts in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, and increased access to healthcare through TrumpRx. Additionally, the RNC plans to hold conversations about how to contrast GOP candidates with “extreme liberal Democrat policies.”

“The message is simple: Americans want strong borders and sound immigration policies, not sanctuary cities and the unspeakable crimes that comes with them,” the RNC said. “They want to continue to reap the profound benefits from the One Big Beautiful Bill: no tax on tips, new pathways to retirement savings, and a vibrant economy that lifts all boats. Parents want a common-sense approach to education, youth sports and school choice — not a liberal lecture on transgender rights and those who think boys should be allowed to play in girls athletics.”
The candidates in attendance include those in House, Senate, and gubernatorial races across the county. Additional speakers to Trump and Vance have not yet been released.
