Elon Musk‘s super PAC, America PAC, will complement the Republican 2026 campaign apparatus for November’s midterm elections, months after the trillionaire threatened to start a third party at the pinnacle of his feud with President Donald Trump.
“The President’s political team and the rest of the GOP apparatus have built a top notch operation that will put Republicans in a strong position to buck history and retain control of Congress this fall, and we’re excited to again be part of the team,” America PAC spokesman Andrew Romeo told the Washington Examiner.
America PAC announced on Thursday that Musk is preparing to spend upward of $120 million on his super PAC during the next 100 days, though he is not poised to campaign publicly as he did in 2024, when he spent more than $260 million helping Trump.
Musk, for example, funded a $1 million-a-day giveaway through America PAC that election cycle to encourage swing-state residents to register voters, including in Pennsylvania, providing winners with giant gimmick checks.
He also spent more than $20 million on the 2025 Wisconsin Supreme Court election supporting a conservative judge, who lost by about 10 points.
America PAC will now target conservative voters who are less likely to vote in nonpresidential election years in at least eight states before November, five Senate states and three congressional states.
An America PAC spokeswoman would not confirm to the Washington Examiner whether those states could include Texas, where Musk is based and where Republican state Attorney General Ken Paxton has yet to receive any financial support from the GOP apparatus, including Trump’s MAGA Inc. and Senate Majority Leader John Thune‘s (R-SD) Senate Leadership Fund.
The current states for America PAC’s planned fieldwork program, supplemented by direct mail and digital advertising, include Alaska, Iowa, Maine, Michigan, and Ohio, according to the New York Times.
America PAC knocked on more than 10 million doors in 2024, and get-out-the-vote efforts will remain the super PAC’s focus in 2026 under the leadership of Musk political adviser Chris Young so other Republican groups can spend money on ads, according to Axios.
To that end, Republican super PACs already have a $300 million-plus advantage over their Democratic counterparts, although many Democratic candidates have been outfundraising their GOP opponents.

Musk threatened to start the America Party last July after he and Trump disagreed over Republicans’ repeal of electric vehicle tax credits in the One Big Beautiful Bill, with Musk appearing to imply the president was mentioned in the federal government’s files regarding convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Trump and Musk had apparently made up by September, appearing together during Charlie Kirk‘s memorial service after Kirk’s assassination earlier that month.
