Washington Examiner columnist Joe Concha said the public should be able to enjoy America 250 without added “nonsense” from the Left, such as late-night comedian Jimmy Fallon.
Concha reacted to a clip of Fallon bashing the Great American State Fair, comparing the foods to what showed up in President Donald Trump’s colonoscopy.
“The fair has everything, there’s even a dunk tank with JD Vance and a drunk tank with Kash Patel,” Fallon said on NBC’s The Tonight Show on Wednesday.
“At least be funny,” Concha said on Fox News’s Hannity Thursday.
The fair is a 16-day event that ends on July 10. It’s complete with an exhibition on each U.S. state, a Ferris wheel, a rodeo, and food on the National Mall.
Concha criticized Fallon for his comments about the FBI director’s “drunk tank.”
Fallon “is the last person that should be talking about ‘drunk tanks’ considering multiple reports, including sources close to the show, that say Jimmy Fallon isn’t exactly the poster child for sobriety,” Concha said. “So maybe a topic he should probably stay away from.”
AMERICA’S 250TH BECOMES THE LATEST FRONT IN COUNTRY’S POLITICAL DIVIDE
Concha said Americans should focus on celebrating the anniversary of the United States without rhetoric from figures like Fallon tainting it.
“Can we just enjoy 250 without everybody else just being miserable about it or making jokes about it? It’s the best time in the world right now, we got the World Cup, we got 250, UFC fights at the White House, can we just enjoy it without this nonsense?”
