Comedian Larry David blasted President Donald Trump’s Freedom 250 UFC fight, saying the event was “embarrassing.”
“It was a travesty. What else can you say about it?” David said during an interview with Variety Tuesday. “It was embarrassing. I was embarrassed to be an American.”
The interview took place on the red carpet for the premiere of David’s new series on HBO, Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness.
The show, produced by former President Barack Obama’s production company Higher Ground Productions, satirizes landmark moments in U.S. history. It’s set to debut on June 26 and will feature several celebrity cameos, including Obama, Jerry Seinfeld, Vince Vaughn, Rita Wilson, and Lin-Manuel Miranda.
