President Donald Trump is enjoying an extra dose of schadenfreude this morning after Tuesday night’s primary election results in New York City. Never Trumper and political rival George Conway was absolutely humiliated in a Democratic congressional primary. It was a stunning example of Conway’s narcissism and egotism.
And Conway didn’t just lose. He lost bigly!
Conway, the ex-husband of former Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway, suffered an embarrassing and expensive political defeat in the Democratic primary for New York City’s 12th Congressional District. He finished in a distant fifth place, receiving less than 6.5% of the vote. Conway, a Trump derangement syndrome patient (arguably patient zero), fared significantly worse, earning a much smaller percentage of votes than his nemesis, Trump, did in the same area — liberal Democratic New York County — in the 2024 presidential election. Trump received 17% of the vote there in 2024 compared to Conway’s 6.1%.
Noting the embarrassing political rejection, Trump had a few laughs at Conway’s expense with a social media post on his Truth Social platform on Tuesday night.
“Wow, Mr. Kellyanne Conway, a Trump Deranged Loser at the highest level, is getting absolutely CRUSHED in the Primaries tonight,” Trump posted. “He’ll end up at about 5% of the vote in a rather weak field of young and aggressive Communists. No wonder his ‘husband’ dumped him like a dog! This is a truly unattractive person, both inside and out. Have a nice life, George!”
Conway’s platform — and arguably existence since Nov. 8, 2016 — focused on a vendetta against Trump. His candidacy came off more like an obsessive jilted lover and revenge fantasy than a legitimate congressional candidate. Nearly every single one of Conway’s social media posts featured criticism, insults, and attacks against Trump, with little attention or interest given to the people whose support Conway actually needed — the voters of New York City’s 12th Congressional District.
Consider the “final campaign video” Conway posted to his social media account, dubbed “Mr. Conway Goes to Washington,” a nod to the iconic 1939 film, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, starring Jimmy Stewart. It was the perfect example of why he was rejected. One would think a campaign video might focus on the people of the 12th District, how Conway could serve their interests, and how he might help them. That’s what political campaigns are about, right? Serving and helping constituents.

Nope, his final campaign video was yet another moment captured of Conway’s unhinged and unhealthy obsession with Trump. Instead of promoting anything other than his pure hatred for the president, Conway showed a video of himself leering on a sidewalk and giving the middle finger as Trump’s motorcade passes by, with the camera then showing a goofy, dorky-looking grin on his face. It was kind of psychopathic, which is ironic since Conway is the same guy who infamously started the Anti-Psychopath PAC to take down Trump in the 2024 election. It really raises the question of whether Conway truly understands what the word “psychopath” means.
Suffice it to say, Mr. Conway will not be going to Washington.

It was objectively creepy and obsessive, even for a Trump derangement syndrome-fueled Never Trumper such as Conway. It was also objectively stupid, as his platform mostly ignored the concerns and plights of the residents of New York City’s 12th District. However, therein lies the difference between Trump and people such as Conway and his band of Never Trumpers. Trump ran multiple campaigns to help people. He pitched himself as a candidate for change and a reform catalyst who would improve people’s lives.
Conversely, Conway ran a campaign solely on helping himself. He’s too elitist, and arguably politically fatuous, to comprehend such a simple thing. Whatever one’s thoughts on Trump, his campaign focused on helping others. Conway focused on obtaining power and punishing Trump — and he didn’t even try to hide it. That is why New York City rejected him. That is why he was humiliated in Tuesday’s election.
And that is why Trump gets the last laugh at Conway — again.
