At least one person is dead after a police-involved shooting Tuesday morning on Wisconsin Avenue in Northwest, Washington, D.C.
Police were responding to the scene where a man shot a woman, and then law enforcement officers shot the man. He was taken to the hospital and later pronouced dead. The woman’s status is unclear.
The 3600 block through the 4000 block of the street has been shut down, according to police. The shooting occurred close to Sidwell Friends School, a private school that serves students ages pre-kindergarten through 12th grade.
Authorities have not announced what led up to the shooting or the identities of the victims.
