Washington Examiner columnist Joe Concha said Democrats should be thanking tech billionaires such as Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos for creating “millions of jobs” through their businesses.
“You could tax them out the wazoo but it does not matter,” Concha said on Fox Business’s Evening Edit Thursday. “What they’re producing for the American people … yeah that’s a lot better than taking their money and then putting it into the government coffers.”
Concha’s comments follow progressives, including Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), who have criticized the tech billionaires for getting rich.
Concha drew similarities between working at Amazon or Tesla with working at Facebook.
“Good for them, by the way,” Concha said. “If you chose to work for these companies, it’s like working for Facebook in the early stages. If a great company is born, people will get rich if they are in the early stages of it. That’s the American way.
“Applaud them,” he said. “It worked out well for them.”

Concha criticized Ocasio-Cortez and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), saying they didn’t create any jobs like Musk or Bezos.
“I’ll side on the side of Bezos and Elon for employing people as opposed to AOC and Bernie, who only take money from people and don’t employ anybody in any way, shape or form,” Concha said.
