Washington Examiner columnist Joe Concha slammed New York Knicks fans who “booed” President Donald Trump at the NBA finals, calling out the “richest 1%” who didn’t want Trump there.
“Anybody who blames Donald Trump for being there for their loss, does not know basketball, does not know the Knicks, and certainly does not know basically anything about common logic,” Concha said on Fox News’s Fox & Friends First Tuesday.
The Knicks lost Monday’s game to the San Antonio Spurs.
Concha criticized the rich elite who attended the game, saying the people there were not part of Trump’s voter base, “that was not exactly the lunch pail crowd.”
Concha said Trump only got a slim percentage of votes in Manhattan in 2024, so “nothing surprising there.”
“This was the richest 1% of the top 1% of the 1% that were there.”
Concha defended Trump’s attendance at the game, saying Trump has been attending Knicks games since the 1980s. He also praised Whoopi Goldberg, co-host of The View, for defending Trump as well.
“Anybody who is a Knicks fan should be there, you earn the right as a Knicks fan,” Goldberg said. “I don’t care who you are, I don’t have to like you.”
“Good for Whoopi in that case, being honest and saying, ‘Look, you can’t criticize the guy in this case,’” Concha said.

Concha said the Knicks still have home court advantage as they move on to Game 4 on June 10.
Concha’s prediction for the Knicks: “They probably will still win the series.”
