Alyssa Farah Griffin, co-host of The View, says that President Donald Trump is “getting things done, we just don’t like what he’s getting done,” amid conversations surrounding Trump’s public appearance and overall fitness for office.
The discussion references comments made by Dr. Jonathan Reiner, who has publicly raised concerns about presidential fitness across party lines. Farah Griffin argued that Reiner has been consistent in questioning both Trump and former President Joe Biden, noting that the doctor previously expressed concerns about Biden’s capacity while he was in office.
“I think these are legitimate questions to ask,” Farah Griffin said on The View’s “Hot Topic” segment on Wednesday.
She emphasized that Reiner was not simply criticizing Trump out of political bias. “This isn’t somebody with Trump derangement syndrome just coming after Donald Trump. This is someone who also wrote an op-ed saying there are legitimate questions about the health of Joe Biden,” she said.
The discussion then turned to Biden’s record in office, with co-host Whoopi Goldberg stating, “I just want to point out what ‘sleepy Joe’ got done while he was asleep. He oversaw a historic economy that produced over 16 million jobs. He passed bipartisan infrastructure bills, revitalized NATO, and rejoined the Paris climate agreement, codified federal protections for same sex marriage, signed the most significant federal gun safety legislation in decades, that’s what he did when he was asleep.”
Farah Griffin also acknowledged that Trump has remained politically active and effective in advancing his agenda, though Goldberg expressed disagreement with his priorities and policies. “I think we all agree at this table, Donald Trump is getting things done, we just don’t like what he’s getting done,” she said.
WHOOPI GOLDBERG QUESTIONS PETE HEGSETH’S KNOWLEDGE OF MILITARY HISTORY
The segment grew more serious with concerns raised about Trump’s rhetoric and behavior during public appearances.
“When you talk about a president — We want our president to get stuff done — there are things you can do that not everyone is going to agree on,” Goldberg said. “It’s just the way it is because we’re a two-party system, we don’t agree with everything our own people do or what the others do, but I have to say, this other one, I am worried about him because I don’t know what this means.”
