Trump says the ‘fake news’ is committing ‘virtual treason’ by reporting on Iran war

President Donald Trump accused some media outlets of committing “virtual treason” on Tuesday with their coverage of the war in Iran.

Trump’s comments came in the form of a Truth Social post while he was traveling to Beijing on Tuesday afternoon for a bilateral summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

“When the Fake News says that the Iranian enemy is doing well, Militarily, against us, it’s virtual TREASON in that it is such a false, and even preposterous, statement,” Trump said. “They are aiding and abetting the enemy!

“All it does is give Iran false hope when none should exist. These are American cowards that are rooting against our Country,” the president continued, saying that Iran’s navy, air force, and “technology” were all “gone.”

“[Iran’s] ‘leaders’ are no longer with us, and the Country is an Economic Disaster,” he wrote. “Only Losers, Ingrates, and Fools are able to make a case against America!”

Last month, Trump made a similar case against Democratic lawmakers, claiming they “are doing everything possible to hurt the very strong position we are in with respect to Iran.”

“We won’t let the Weak and Pathetic Democrats, TRAITORS ALL, who for years have been talking about the Dangers of Iran, and that something has to be done, but now, since I’m the one doing it, belittle the accomplishments of our Military and the Trump Administration,” he wrote at the time.
