Federal prosecutors released new images and details about Cole Allen on Wednesday, including a mirror selfie he allegedly took inside his hotel room roughly 30 minutes before he charged past a final security gate at the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner.
The image shows Allen dressed in black slacks and a black dress shirt with a red tie tucked into his pants, appearing to carry multiple items later recovered from his person, including an ammunition-filled bag, a shoulder holster, a knife, and tools such as pliers and wire cutters, according to the latest court filing. Prosecutors say the photo was taken at approximately 8:03 p.m. on April 25 while he was inside his room at the Washington Hilton, just minutes before going downstairs.

Investigators also detailed Allen’s movements in the hours leading up to the incident, noting he had accessed an online presidential schedule tracker earlier that evening. He had arrived in Washington, D.C., the previous afternoon after a cross-country train trip, during which he kept a running journal on his phone documenting his observations.
UNITEDHEALTHCARE FIRES EMPLOYEE OVER COMMENTS ON LATEST TRUMP ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT
The writings, included in the filing, ranged from descriptions of landscapes to impressions of major cities, offering insight into his mindset in the days leading up to the alleged assassination attempt targeting President Donald Trump.
The government’s latest filing is part of a push to keep Allen in custody ahead of trial, with a detention hearing scheduled for Thursday. Prosecutors say the evidence, including the photograph and his travel notes, underscores the seriousness of the alleged assassination attempt targeting Trump and other administration officials.
