British Prime Minister Keir Starmer is addressing members of Parliament on Monday over his controversial appointment of Lord Peter Mandelson as U.K. ambassador to the United States.
Mandelson was removed from the role last fall due to his ties to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The Labour Party politician was arrested in February and subsequently released under investigation.

Recent reporting showed Mandelson failed to pass vetting procedures last year, but the British government granted him clearance anyway. Starmer is facing scrutiny for the oversight. He was apparently unaware that Mandelson failed to pass the security checks.
The prime minister’s address is set to start in the House of Commons at 10:30 a.m. ET Monday.
