President Donald Trump on Sunday morning warned Iran to accept a “very fair” deal as U.S. negotiators head to Pakistan for peace talks.
The president said the negotiations would take place in Pakistan, a third-party mediator in the conflict, on Monday evening, the day before a two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran is set to end. If the two sides fail to reach a final solution, the U.S. will “knock out every single Power Plant, and every single Bridge” in Iran, Trump said, reiterating his previous pledge to carry out Iran’s “complete demolition” if it doesn’t make a deal.
“We’re offering a very fair and reasonable DEAL, and I hope they take it because, if they don’t, the United States is going to knock out every single Power Plant, and every single Bridge, in Iran,” Trump said in a post to Truth Social.
“NO MORE MR. NICE GUY! They’ll come down fast, they’ll come down easy and, if they don’t take the DEAL, it will be my Honor to do what has to be done, which should have been done to Iran, by other Presidents, for the last 47 years. IT’S TIME FOR THE IRAN KILLING MACHINE TO END!” he continued.
The war between the U.S. and Iran sparked on Feb. 28 due to Washington’s concerns that Iran holds enough enriched uranium to make 11 nuclear bombs within 10 days. CIA Director John Ratcliffe recently said Iran has enough enriched uranium “capable of putting together 10 nuclear weapons.”
The U.S. and Iran reached a two-week ceasefire agreement on April 7, and negotiations for a final deal, centered mostly around ending Iran’s nuclear program, have continued since then. Iranian negotiators have become much more amenable to agreeing to U.S. demands in recent days, according to Trump, particularly after the U.S. launched a blockade of Iranian ports in the Strait of Hormuz last Sunday. But tensions between the two countries flared over the weekend when Iran broke its promise to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and fired on multiple vessels passing through it on Saturday.
Trump railed against Iran for doing so on Sunday.
“Iran decided to fire bullets yesterday in the Strait of Hormuz — A Total Violation of our Ceasefire Agreement! Many of them were aimed at a French Ship, and a Freighter from the United Kingdom. That wasn’t nice, was it?” he said.
The April 7 ceasefire was announced after Trump threatened to bomb “every bridge” and every power plant in the country if it did not come to the table.

“I mean complete demolition by 12 o’clock, and it’ll happen over a period of four hours, if we wanted to,” Trump warned during a press conference on April 6.
“Do I want to do that? No,” Trump told reporters. “We don’t want that to happen. We may even get involved with helping them rebuild their nation. And you know what? If that’s the case, the last thing we want to do is start with power plants, which are among the most expensive thing, and bridges.”
