Washington Examiner columnist Joe Concha said Democrats’ criticism of the war in Iran is unwarranted and “so phony.”
He said that both Democratic and Republican presidents “have said, ‘We have to do something about Iran,’ and finally Donald Trump did something about Iran, and now [Democrats] have a problem with that. It’s just all so phony.”
“The president here is acting on principle,” Concha said Thursday on Fox Business’s The Evening Edit.
Host Elizabeth MacDonald pulled up a clip of Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) in 2015 in which he slammed then-President Barack Obama’s weak Iran deal. MacDonald and Concha said Schumer’s current criticism of President Trump is cynical.
“He switched his position,” Concha said. “This guy is a weather vane in a tornado. He will say whatever he thinks is politically expedient at the time.”

They also talked about Democrats’ push to invoke the 25th Amendment under Trump, but that Democrats ran from it when then-President Joe Biden’s cognitive health was under fire. Concha said Trump is a leader people see in front of cameras every day, going through extensive questioning.
“Joe Biden’s brain turned to mashed potatoes some time ago,” Concha said. “It is the ultimate eye-rolling moment of ‘You got to be kidding me’ at this point.”
