The violent stupidity of the ‘No Kings’ protests

.

The Democratic Party’s “No Kings” protests were revived this past weekend, showcasing the violence and the ideological incoherence of the party’s politicians and activist class.

These protests led to arrests and violence throughout the country, as Democrats have cultivated an activist base that believes it can violate whatever laws it wants in pursuit of the party’s political goals. Protesters were arrested on various charges in Denver, Portland, and Las Vegas, including for throwing rocks at law enforcement. Video from Portland shows protesters trying to destroy a gate at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility, only to meekly back away when they manage to pry the gate open.

DEMOCRATS OPPOSE ICE ITSELF, NOT ABUSES OR OVERREACH

The worst display came in Los Angeles, where roughly 70 people were arrested. Protesters threw rocks and cement bricks at Los Angeles police officers. Among the flags being flown by these “patriotic” protesters, from Los Angeles to New York City, were the Mexican flag, the Palestinian flag, and communist flags.

Aside from the violence and lawlessness, which Democrats have promoted through their culture of permissiveness among their base, the worst part of the protests is that they are brain-dead. Democratic activists jump from protest movement to protest movement, turning their causes into an amorphous blob that makes every protest identical. That is why the “No Kings” protest featured signs supporting Iran’s terrorist government, the Palestinians’ terrorist cause, and eliminating immigration enforcement.

It is also why the people promoting the “No Kings” protest don’t actually believe in the “No Kings” messaging. In Hawaii, the protest was called “No Dictators” out of respect for the indigenous former monarchy of Hawaii. Other protesters carried signs supporting the French Revolution, the violent bloodbath that violated basic human rights and resulted in a French authoritarian government taking power.

And, of course, none of these people actually believes that President Donald Trump is a king. If he were, he wouldn’t have such difficulty getting his grand voting bill to become law. Sen. Mazie Hirono (D-HI) inadvertently admitted that she and every other Democrat know that this whole protest is a farce, posting the following on X: “Donald Trump is not, never will be, and has never been a king.”

Glad we sorted that all out.

‘CONTRIVED’ ‘NO KINGS’ PROTESTS DON’T APPEAR TO BE ‘GRASSROOTS’: JOE CONCHA

All of these activists and the Democrats cheering them on know Trump isn’t a king. They know they are in no danger by attending these protests (as one presumably would be if they were protesting against an actual authoritarian), so much so that dozens of them feel comfortable enough to throw rocks at law enforcement with little worry about the consequences.

These protests are, and always have been, nothing more than a way for Democrats to keep their activist base mad and motivated heading into the 2026 midterm elections. That is why the protests are ideologically incoherent, why the protests devolve into grievance sessions for every issue, and why Democrats don’t care about the violence and disrespect toward law enforcement and the rule of law that bloom from the demonstrations. They prove that Democrats love protesting as a hobby, no matter how shallow it exposes their belief system to be.
