Allies are with the US during Operation Epic Fury: Guy Benson

.

Washington Examiner senior columnist Guy Benson said critics who argue the United States is fighting the Iran war alone have a “divorce from the reality.”

“We were told, even in that clip of Hakeem Jeffries, that the allies aren’t listening to us and it’s totally going alone, that is divorce from the reality we see here today,” Benson said on Fox News’s Special Report with Bret Baier Thursday.

Critics of the military operation in Iran have pointed to allies refusing to help with the Strait of Hormuz as a reason the war isn’t as successful as the Trump administration claims. The Strait of Hormuz is considered a crucial waterway for global energy trade.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps effectively shut down the Strait in early March in response to U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran.

Benson said there is a “vested interest” to take action in the strait for other countries because of its importance.

“Better than nothing, we got another statement from the Arab countries as well that have been very much with us and the Israelis during this operation, saying they also want to make sure that that strait remains open,” Benson said.

Benson criticized those opposed to the military operations in Iran, arguing that they are not listening.

“The case we’re getting from a lot of people that this is some sort of quagmire, or worse, is totally unrecognizable compared to the facts on the ground, which have been a stupendous success so far,” he said.
