While it might be snowing in Washington, D.C., the National Cherry Blossom Festival wants you to don your best pink and florals for the annual Pink Tie Party. Kicking off on Friday, March 13, at 7 p.m., Union Station is transforming into a spring-themed “immersive experience.”
“It’s a completely immersive experience that, we say, delights all the senses,” Sarah Raven Spira, director of marketing and communications at the National Cherry Blossom Festival, told the Washington Examiner.
The fundraiser kickstarts the cherry blossom season, and proceeds from entrance fees and a silent auction help keep festival events free to the public. The theme this year is “Art of Fashion.”
The event includes food from various restaurants, a make-your-own scent bar by Cabernet Candles, a magic mirror photo moment, and a fashion show featuring local designers.

“You have your bloom couture and your floral fantasy rooms,” Spira said. “We also have local fashion designers and visual artists who are debuting brand new work just for us. They’ll be on the runway. They’ll be on display.”
Tickets are still available here.
