Trump endorsement tracker: Here’s who the president has picked in GOP midterm election primaries

President Donald Trump has moved early to shape the GOP field as Republicans head into the 2026 elections, issuing over 200 endorsements across the U.S. Senate, House, and state legislative races.

Republicans hold a narrow majority in the House, and the party risks losing control of the chamber if Democrats net just a handful of seats.

Trump’s endorsements are largely aimed at protecting incumbents and clearing primary fields while also backing Republicans running in Democrat-held districts and states. 

Alabama

Trump has endorsed Rep. Barry Moore for Alabama’s open Senate seat left by Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL), who is running for governor and also received the president’s endorsement in that venture. 

Trump has endorsed Reps. Mike Rogers, Robert Aderholt, Dale Strong, and Gary Palmer.

At the state level, vice chairman of the Republican National Committee John Wahl has secured Trump’s endorsement for lieutenant governor.

Alaska

Trump has endorsed Sen. Dan Sullivan for reelection. 

Trump has endorsed Rep. Nick Begich.

Arizona 

Arizona will not hold a Senate race during this election cycle. 

Trump has endorsed Reps. Eli Crain, Juan Ciscomani, Abraham Hamadeh, and Paul Gosar. He has also endorsed Mark Lamb. In Arizona’s 1st Congressional District, Trump issued dual endorsements in the same primary, backing both Gina Swoboda and Jay Feely. 

Arkansas

Trump has endorsed Sen. Tom Cotton for reelection. 

Trump has endorsed Reps. Rick Crawford, French Hill, Steve Womack, and Bruce Westerman.

For Arkansas governor, Trump has endorsed Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders for reelection. Sanders has already won the primary elections and will take on two Democratic challengers in November. 

California

California will not hold a Senate race during this election cycle. 

Trump has endorsed challenger Kevin Lincoln II and Reps. Vince Fong, Jay Obernolte, Darell Issa, and Tom McClintock to represent California in the House. 

Colorado

While Trump has not endorsed a candidate in the Colorado Senate race, several Republican candidates are running. State representative Mark Baisley is among the Republicans seeking the seat, but he has not received an endorsement from the president.

Trump has endorsed Reps. Lauren Boebert, Jeff Hurd, Jeff Crank, and Gabe Evans.

Connecticut

Connecticut will hold races for its five House seats, governor, state House, Senate, and several other state legislative offices. 

The state has voted primarily for Democrats since 2006. Trump has not issued any endorsements for candidates running in Connecticut.  

Delaware

Delaware will hold elections for one Senate seat, its singular House seat, the state House and Senate, and several other legislative offices. 

The president has not issued any endorsements for candidates running in Delaware.

Florida

Florida will not hold a Senate race during this election cycle. 

Trump has endorsed Florida Reps. Gus Bilirakis, Anna Paulina Luna, Laurel Lee, Vern Buchanan, Greg Steube, Scott Franklin, Neal Dunn, Mario Diaz-Malart, Kat Cammack, Randy Fine, Mike Haridopolos, and Jim Patronis.

To replace Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), who is not seeking reelection due to term limits, Trump has endorsed Republican candidate Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL), who is currently in the U.S. House.

Down the leadership ladder, Trump has endorsed Ileana Garcia and Ana Maria Rodriguez for reelection in the state Senate. He also endorsed Rick Roth, who is running for an open seat. 

In Florida’s House, the president endorsed Jon Maples, who is running for an open seat. 

Trump has endorsed Florida attorney general candidate James Uthmeier, who is seeking reelection. 

Joe Gruters also received an endorsement from the president for Florida’s chief financial officer, as he will challenge incumbent Republican Blaise Ingoglia. 

Georgia

While Georgia will hold a Senate race this election cycle in which Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-GA) will seek reelection, Trump has not made an endorsement for any Republican candidates.

Trump has endorsed Reps. Rich McCormick, Austin Scott, and Andrew Clyde, as well as newcomer Clay Fuller. The president also endorsed Rep. Barry Loudermilk for reelection, but Loudermilk has since announced he will not seek reelection. 

Trump has also endorsed Burt Jones for governor as Gov. Brian Kemp (D-GA) will not seek reelection due to term limits. 

Hawaii 

Hawaii will hold elections for its two House seats, governor, state House and Senate, and several other legislative executives.

Trump has not endorsed any candidates running for office in Hawaii’s midterm elections. 

Idaho

Trump has endorsed Sen. Jim Risch for reelection. 

Trump has endorsed Reps. Russ Fulcher and Mike Simpson to serve as representatives for the state’s two congressional districts.

For governor, Trump endorsed incumbent candidate Gov. Brad Little (R-ID). 

Illinois 

Illinois will hold a Senate race this election cycle, though the field mainly consists of Democratic candidates. Trump has not endorsed the lone Republican, Don Tracy. 

Trump has endorsed Reps. Mike Bost, Mary Miller, and Darin LaHood for reelection. The three incumbents represent Illinois’ three Republican voting districts, which are primarily south of Chicago

Indiana

Indiana will not hold a Senate election during this cycle. 

Trump has endorsed Reps. Marlin Stutzman, Jim Baird, Victoria Spartz, Jefferson Shreve, Mark Messmer, and Erin Houchin. 

Notably, Trump did not endorse Rep. Rudy Yakym (R-IN), who is running for reelection in Indiana’s 2nd Congressional District, despite the congressman being a staunch supporter of the president

At the state level, Trump has endorsed Tracy Powell, Paula Copenhaver, and Michelle Davis, who are all challenging sitting republicans for state Senate seats. 

Iowa

Trump has endorsed Rep. Ashley Hinson for Iowa‘s open Senate seat. Incumbent Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA) will not seek reelection. 

Trump has endorsed Reps. Marionette Miller-Meeks and Zach Nunn for reelection. The president also endorsed Joe Mitchell, a former state representative seeking an open seat.

Kansas

Trump has endorsed Sen. Roger Marshall for reelection in Kansas.

Trump has endorsed Reps. Tracy Mann, Derek Schmidt, and Ron Estes. 

Kentucky

Kentucky will hold a Senate race this election cycle to fill Sen. Mitch McConnell‘s (R-KY) seat, as he is retiring. Trump has not issued an endorsement in the Kentucky Senate race thus far. 

Trump has endorsed Reps. James Comer, Brett Guthrie, Ed Gallrein, and Hal Rogers

Gallrein secured a presidential endorsement over incumbent Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY), as Massie has been a strong critic of Trump’s policies, particularly the Justice Department‘s handling of the Epstein files. 

Louisiana 

Trump has endorsed Rep. Julia Letlow for Louisiana’s Senate seat to challenge incumbent Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA). Letlow initially ran for the 5th Congressional District, but she did not make it onto the ballot. 

Trump has endorsed Reps. Steve Scalise, Clay Higgins, and House Speaker Mike Johnson

Maine

Republican Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) will seek reelection in Maine’s 2026 Senate race, but Trump has not issued an endorsement of her. 

Trump has endorsed Paul LePage for Maine’s 2nd Congressional District, but the president has not backed a Republican candidate in the state’s 1st Congressional District. 

Maryland

Maryland will not hold a Senate race during the midterm elections. However, the state will hold elections for eight House seats, governor, state House and Senate, as well as other state offices. 

Trump has not endorsed any candidates in the Old Line State. 

Massachusetts

Massachusetts will hold elections for one of its Senate seats, nine House seats, governor, state House and Senate, and seven legislative offices, including members of the governor’s council.

Trump has not endorsed any of the candidates running in Massachusetts. 

Michigan

Trump endorsed Rep. Mike Rogers in July 2025 for Michigan’s Senate seat. Rogers has been a supporter of Trump, specifically on the issue of the Gordie Howe International Bridge, which will connect Detroit to Ontario. 

Bill Huizenga was originally going to challenge Rogers for the Republican nomination, but Trump asked him to back down. Huizenga has now filed to run for reelection in the 4th Congressional District, but did not receive the president’s endorsement.

Trump has endorsed incumbent Reps. Jack Bergman, John Moolenaar, Tim Walberg, Tom Barrett, and Lisa McClain for five of the 13 House seats in Michigan. 

Minnesota

While Minnesota will hold a Senate race in 2026 to replace Sen. Tina Smith (D-MN), Trump has not endorsed any candidate in the Republican field. 

Trump has endorsed Reps. Brad Finstad, Tom Emmer, Michelle Fischbach, and Pete Stauber for reelection. 

Mississippi

Trump has endorsed Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith for reelection in Mississippi

Trump has endorsed Reps. Trent Kelly, Michael Guest, and Mike Ezell for reelection to the House of Representatives.

Missouri 

The Show-Me State will not hold an election for the U.S. Senate during this election cycle. 

Trump has endorsed Reps. Ann Wagner, Bob Onder, Mark Alford, Sam Graves, Eric Burlison, and Jason Smith for reelection to the House of Representatives.

Montana 

Trump has endorsed Sen. Steve Daines (R-MT) for reelection in Montana

On the House of Representatives side, Trump has endorsed Reps. Ryan Zinke and Troy Downing for reelection. 

Nebraska

Sen. Pete Ricketts (R-NE) received a presidential endorsement from Trump as he seeks reelection. 

Trump has endorsed Reps. Mike Flood and Adrian Smith for reelection in Nebraska.

Rep. Don Bacon (R-NE) did not receive an endorsement from Trump and did not make it to the ballot for the primary election on May 12. Although a Republican, Bacon has voted against Trump’s agenda, including voting to repeal tariffs on Canada

For governor, the president endorsed incumbent Gov. Jim Pillen (R-NE). 

Nevada 

Nevada will not hold a Senate race during this election cycle. 

Trump has endorsed incumbent Rep. Mark Amodei for reelection. 

Gov. Joe Lombardo (R-NV) secured an endorsement from the president as he seeks reelection. 

New Hampshire

Trump has endorsed former Gov. Chris Sununu for Senate. 

Another notable Republican, Scott Brown, the GOP Senate predecessor of Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), has switched states and will run for New Hampshire‘s next senator. He has not received Trump’s endorsement.

Trump has not issued any endorsements for Republican candidates running to represent New Hampshire in the House. 

New Jersey 

While New Jersey will hold a Senate race in 2026, Trump has not endorsed any candidates challenging Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ). 

Trump has endorsed Reps. Jeff Van Drew, Chris Smith, and Thomas Kean Jr. for reelection. They are the only representatives running for the Republican Party in New Jersey. 

New Mexico

Trump has not made any endorsements in New Mexico, as there are no Republicans on the ballot

New York 

New York will not hold a Senate election during the midterm elections. 

Trump has endorsed Reps. Nick LaLota, Nicole Malliotakis, Mike Lawler, Andrew Garbarino, Nick Langworthy, and Claudia Tenney for reelection. 

Elise Stefanik is the only other Republican incumbent in New York, but she is not seeking reelection.

As Gov. Kathy Hochul (D-NY) seeks reelection, Trump has endorsed Republican challenger Bruce Blakeman. 

North Carolina 

Trump has endorsed Michael Whatley to replace Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC), who is retiring. 

Trump has endorsed Reps. Pat Harrigan, Chuck Edwards, Brad Knott, Tim Moore, Greg Murphy, Virginia Foxx, Addison McDowell, David Rouzer, Mark Harris, and Richard Hudson for reelection. 

At the state level, the president has endorsed incumbent Phil Berger for the state Senate. 

North Dakota 

There will not be a Senate election in North Dakota during the 2026 elections. 

Trump has endorsed Rep. Julie Fedorchak for reelection, and she is running unopposed.

Ohio

Trump has endorsed Lt. Gov. Jon Husted for reelection. Husted was appointed by Gov. Mike DeWine (R-OH) to fill the seat left vacant by Vice President JD Vance

Trump has endorsed Reps. Michael Turner, Troy Balderson, David Joyce, Mike Carey, David Taylor, Jim Jordan, Bob Latta, Michael Rulli, Max Miller, and Warren Davidson for reelection. 

Ohio will also elect a new governor in the midterm elections, and Trump has handed his endorsement to his former challenger, Vivek Ramaswamy

Oklahoma

Trump has endorsed Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) for reelection in the midterm elections. 

Trump has endorsed Reps. Kevin Hurn, Josh Brecheen, Frank Lucas, Tom Cole, and Stephanie Bice for reelection to all of Oklahoma’s five House seats. 

Oregon 

Trump has not granted either of the two Republican candidates an endorsement in the Oregon Senate race. 

Trump has endorsed Rep. Cliff Bentz for reelection to Oregon’s 2nd Congressional District. 

Pennsylvania 

Neither of Pennsylvania‘s two senators’ terms will expire and prompt an election in 2026.

Trump has endorsed Reps. Scott Perry, Lloyd Smucker, John Joyce, Guy Reschenthaler, Glenn Thompson, Mike Kelly, Ryan Mackenzie, Rob Bresnahan Jr., and Dan Meuser for reelection. 

Stacy Garrity is running for the open governor’s seat to challenge Gov. Josh Shapiro (D-PA), and she has received the president’s endorsement.

Rhode Island

While Rhode Island will elect a senator in 2026, Trump has not endorsed any of the two Republican candidates. 

There are no candidates running for the House of Representatives in Rhode Island.

South Carolina

Trump has endorsed Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) for reelection. Graham has served as South Carolina‘s senator since 2003. 

Trump has endorsed Reps. Joe Wilson, Sheri Biggs, William Timmons, and Russell Fry. 

Rep. Ralph Norman (R-SC) was seeking reelection for the Palmetto State’s 5th Congressional District, but did not make it onto the ballot. Instead, Norman will run for governor, challenging Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC).

South Dakota

Trump has endorsed Sen. Mike Rounds (R-SD) for reelection. 

Dusty Johnson is running for reelection in South Dakota’s lone at-large congressional district. Although Johnson has been a supporter of Trump and his immigration policies, he has not received the president’s endorsement. 

Tennessee

Trump has endorsed Sen. Bill Hagerty (R-TN) for reelection in Tennessee.

Trump has endorsed Reps. Diana Harshbarger, Tim Burchett, Charles Fleischmann, Scott DesJarlais, Andy Ogles, Matt Van Epps, and David Kustoff for reelection. 

Texas

Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) is seeking reelection in the Lone Star State and is a prominent Trump ally, though he has yet to secure an endorsement. 

Attorney General Ken Paxton and Rep. Wesley Hunt joined Cornyn in the race for the Senate seat. Trump said he hasn’t made an endorsement because he “likes” all three of them. 

Trump has endorsed Reps. Nathaniel Moran, Chris Gober, August Pfluger, Craig Goldman, Ronny Jackson, Randy Weber, Monica De La Cruz, Pete Sessions, Jodey Arrington, Mark Teixeira, Trever Nehls, Tony Gonzales, Beth Van Duyne, and Roger Williams.

Brandon Gill, Michael Cloud, Tano Tijerina, Keith Self, John Carter, Eric Flores, Brian Babin, Pat Fallon, Lance Gooden, and Jake Ellzey have also secured the president’s endorsement.

He has also endorsed Jon Bonck, Carlos De La Cruz, Alex Mealer, Jace Yarbrough, and Jessica Steinmann to represent Texas in the House. 

At the state level, Trump has endorsed Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX) for reelection and Dan Patrick for lieutenant governor. 

David Cook and Leigh Wambsganss have also secured Trump’s endorsement as they seek state Senate seats. 

The president has also endorsed several state House candidates for reelection, Reps. Angelia Orr, Dustin Burrows, and Candy Noble. 

Utah

Utah will not hold a Senate election in the 2026 elections. 

Trump has endorsed Reps. Blake Moore, Celeste Maloy, Mike Kennedy, and Burgess Owens. 

Vermont

Vermont will not hold a Senate race during this election cycle, but there will be an election for its one House seat and several other state-level roles. Trump has not made any endorsements.

Virginia

Virginia will hold an election for one of its Senate seats during the midterm elections, but Trump has not made any endorsements in the field of Republican candidates looking to challenge Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA)

Trump has endorsed Reps. Rob Wittman, Jennifer Kiggans, John McGuire, Ben Cline, and Morgan Griffith for reelection. 

Washington

Washington will not hold a Senate election during the midterm elections.

Trump has endorsed Amanda McKinney and Michael Baumgartner to represent Washington in the House. 

West Virginia  

Trump has endorsed Sen. Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) for reelection. 

Trump has endorsed Reps. Carol Miller and Riley Moore for reelection to represent West Virginia‘s two congressional seats in the House. 

Wisconsin

There is no Senate seat up for election in Wisconsin

Trump has endorsed Reps. Bryan Steil, Derrick Van Orden, Scott Fitzgerald, Glenn Grothman, and Tony Wied for reelection. The president also endorsed Michael Alfonso, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy‘s son-in-law, for Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District. 

At the state level, Trump gave an endorsement to Tom Tiffany in the gubernatorial race to fill the seat left vacant by Gov. Tony Evers (D-WI), who is retiring. 

Wyoming 

Trump had initially endorsed incumbent Sen. Cynthia Lummis (R-WY), but she later announced she would not seek reelection. 

Rep. Harriet Hageman has received the president’s endorsement.

Trump has not made any endorsements for House candidates running in Wyoming

However, at the state level, Trump has endorsed Megan Degenfelder, who is running for the open governor’s seat left vacant by Gov. Mark Gordon (R-WY), who is ineligible for reelection.
