Washington Examiner senior writer Joe Concha predicted that “a lot of people will be interested” in Melania Trump’s documentary because she is such a private person.
“Melania” captures the final three weeks leading up to President Donald Trump’s second presidential inauguration at the beginning of 2025. The film is scheduled to be released in theaters exclusively on Jan. 30.
“It is fascinating to watch the first lady doing as much media as she’s doing now to promote this documentary and movie,” Concha said on Fox News’s Fox and Friends First Thursday. “Ever since she was thrust on the scene 10 years ago, she’s been as private as any first lady in the modern TV era.
“This is definitely a movie many Americans may want to watch, because you’re going to learn a lot of things about her, because of the privacy we mentioned, things you may have never known for the first time after watching this,” Concha said. “I think, therefore, this is something that a lot of people are going to be very interested in seeing because she has been so private and now she’s willing to open up about her life over the last 10 years. Which I can imagine has been one big roller coaster ride, certainly.”
As the release date approaches, theaters in South Africa have reportedly pulled the documentary. Locals cited the “current climate” as a reason to stop its release.
Trump has been promoting the film on Truth Social earlier this week.
In one preview, Melania is seen asking the Secret Service Director, Sean Curran, “Is it safe?”
“It is safe,” Curran responds.

Other clips capture the design of her Inauguration Ball dress and the moments before she stepped onstage for the inauguration.
Trump and Fernando Sulichin served as the film’s executive producers. Hollywood veteran Brett Ratner directed the film, his first project since he faced sexual harassment accusations, which he has denied. Ratner’s latest credit was as a producer of “Georgetown,” a political drama set in Washington, D.C., which premiered in 2019.
