Liberals, Democrats, and others on the Left have made a mockery of the compassion surrounding the deaths of left-wing agitators Renee Good and Alex Pretti. They have done so solely to manipulate the public, influence public opinion, and advance their radical immigration ideology, amid calls to defund Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
It’s a safe assumption that no logical, sane person is pleased that both were killed in a confrontation with law enforcement officers. However, the subsequent vilification of law enforcement and the martyrdom that the Left has bestowed upon their deaths is a political manipulation tactic for which many people in the country have fallen. Moreover, it’s a recycled political strategy predicated on emotional manipulation, not facts or logic — and it was used nearly six years ago.
In 2020, Democrats vilified law enforcement officers and called to defund the police. In 2026, they’re demonizing illegal immigration enforcement operations and calling to defund ICE.
This must be stated for what it is: contemporary Democrats just hate law enforcement. Whether it’s police officers, ICE officers, or border patrol agents, or any government office seeking to uphold law and order, the Left’s cadre of miscreants will seek to vilify them as oppressors and abusers to discredit and delegitimize their efforts and the criminal justice system as a whole.
Enough is enough.
Make no mistake, at the root of all these antics, performative political declarations, criticisms, and condemnations regarding the deaths of Good and Pretti is the left-wing desire to rid this country of illegal immigration laws. Democrats want open borders. It was their agenda when President Joe Biden was in office, evidenced by the millions of illegal immigrants who were allowed to flood the border and enter the country illegally and without consequence. And now, they’re trying to push to defund ICE.
The outrage machine stemming from the fallout of Good and Pretti’s death is the next iteration of that. Democrats know they can exploit their deaths for political gain. Look no further than Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s (D-NY) recent comments regarding the Democrats’ “policy demands” to limit the magnitude of President Donald Trump’s illegal immigration enforcement operations.
“What ICE is doing is state-sanctioned thuggery. It must stop,” Schumer said, in a sentiment that is eerily reminiscent of comments he and other Democrats made about police officers in 2020.
“Republicans must work with Democrats to find legislative solutions to restore order and public safety. Congress has the authority and the moral obligation to act,” Schumer said.
He then stated the Democrats’ demands, none of which focused on illegal immigration enforcement, and all focused on what amounted to a rebuke and punishment of law enforcement officials. Democrats require illegal immigration enforcement officers to halt “roving patrols,” coordinate ICE’s efforts with “state and local law enforcement,” and a stricter utilization of warrant requirements. Nothing was said about protesters causing violence or impeding operations — arguably the main reason for the deaths of Good and Pretti. There was no mention about removing people in the country illegally or holding violent illegal immigrants accountable.
DEMOCRATS’ IMMIGRATION POLICIES HAVE CAUSED MUCH MORE DEATH AND VIOLENCE THAN ICE
Everything was focused on left-wing ideals, liberal demands, and Democratic policies. The “reforms” they seek are nothing more than a return to the disastrous immigration policies of the Biden administration, the same policies that caused more violence, murders, and deaths than anything ICE has ever done.
Democrats have long embraced the political strategy of never letting “a crisis go to waste.” If their supporters had followed the rule of law and engaged in peaceful assembly instead of violent riots and agitation, Good and Pretti would still be alive. However, Democrats have regularly demonstrated they don’t think the laws apply to them. As such, they’re using this tragedy of their own making to appear as if they’re grieving, all the while using civilian deaths to try to advance their radical immigration ideology. They cannot do so being honest and truthful, so they resort to deception, emotional manipulation, and indoctrination.
