Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) is set to hold a town hall Tuesday in Minneapolis days after the fatal shooting of Alex Pretti triggered unrest across the city.
Omar, who has been an outspoken critic of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, announced she will be meeting with her constituents in person to answer questions and discuss services her office can provide.
“As Minnesotans, we look out for each other,” Omar wrote on X Monday. “Here’s some helpful resources if you need immediate support finding food, shelter, or healthcare.”
TRUMP ANNOUNCES DOJ INVESTIGATION INTO ILHAN OMAR AMID QUESTIONS OVER WEALTH
President Donald Trump announced Monday that he is sending border czar Tom Homan to Minnesota after Pretti, a 37-year-old intensive care nurse, was shot and killed during an altercation with Border Patrol in Minnesota after intervening with immigration operations.
“Another murder by immigration enforcement in my district,” Omar wrote on X after the death of Pretti. “I am absolutely horrified that federal agents are targeting and executing our residents instead of protecting them. ICE and CBP must leave Minnesota immediately. Kristi Noem must be impeached. Enough.”
Immigration enforcement operations were surged by the Trump administration in the state following the discovery of billions of dollars of fraud within state assistance programs. Pretti’s death comes after the fatal shooting of Minnesota resident Renee Good by an ICE officer earlier this month.

Omar’s town hall also comes after Trump announced via Truth Social that the Justice Department had opened an investigation into Omar’s finances. Financial disclosures show that Omar’s net worth has skyrocketed during her tenure in Congress.
The Washington Examiner reached out to Omar’s office for comment.
