Children’s YouTuber Ms. Rachel issued an apology on Wednesday for liking an antisemitic comment on her Instagram account.
Ms. Rachel, whose real name is Rachel Griffin Accurso, produces video content made to educate and entertain children, and has over 18 million YouTube subscribers and almost 5 million followers on Instagram.
Accurso shared a message on Instagram that read, “Free Palestine, Free Sudan, Free Congo, Free Iran,” with all of the country’s flags, to which one user replied, “Free America from the Jews,” according to the New York Post.
The comment received four likes, including one from Accurso. She said in a video uploaded on Wednesday that she thought she deleted a comment to one of her videos, but instead “accidentally hit like and hide.”
“I’ve accidentally liked comments before, it happens. Like, I’m [a] human that makes mistakes. I would never agree with an antisemitic thing like the comment,” Accurso said.
Accurso added that her advocacy is “wonderful and beautiful,” and said people who know her know “I would never like that” comment.
Last month, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani named Accurso to his inauguration committee. She also collaborated with the mayor to promote free buses in the city, singing a rendition of “Wheels on the Bus.”
Washington Examiner senior writer Joe Concha rebuffed Accurso’s song and message, questioning “who is going to pay” for free buses in the Big Apple.

Accurso was also in the top 10 finalists for StopAntisemitism’s Antisemite of the Year award last year, though her inclusion was criticized online, including by Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA).
