Renee Good should be alive today. It’s because of radical, far-left political ideology that she is not.
The mother of three was killed during a tragic interaction with Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents on Wednesday after she was reportedly disrupting and impeding a federal law enforcement operation. In my opinion, it looks as if she was driving her vehicle into an ICE officer. However, I am not a lawyer, not trained in forensics, and have no experience in law enforcement, so my opinion here is objectively of little value. What I can comment on, however, is that Good’s death is a cautionary tale on the dangers of the left-wing cult of ideology.
Socialists and communists have been funding, organizing, and training agitators to disrupt federal law enforcement operations since President Donald Trump began his second term. Often their actions have been dangerous, illegal, and violent. It’s indicative of the societal left-wing brainwashing many supporters have subscribed to — arguably for decades — in recent years. From throwing Molotov cocktails and large stones off bridges at ICE agents in Los Angeles, to trying to assassinate ICE personnel at a detention center in Texas, to numerous other examples over the last year, radicalized left-wingers have regularly crossed the threshold of legal protest into dangerous, life-threatening violence.
And they have done so because that is what their cult of ideology has instructed them to do. Unfortunately, it was an ideology that Good subscribed to. From a historical perspective, this thirst for violence originates from the core tenets of Marxist orthodoxy. Consider the words of Karl Marx, co-author of The Communist Manifesto, who declared that supporters must embrace “every revolutionary movement against the existing social and political order of things” and that such objectives could “be attained only by the forcible overthrow of all existing social conditions.”
In the 19th century, this meant overthrowing the bourgeoisie. In 20th-century Russia, this meant overthrowing the kulaks. In the United States in 2026, this means anything associated with the Trump administration, particularly law enforcement officers whose job it is to remove people violating federal law and residing in the country illegally. That is what Rene Good was protesting and, more importantly, that is what she was trained to protest.
Yes, a mother of three, with her youngest child being just 6 years old, devoted her time to “ICE Watch,” a local anti-ICE activist group that wantonly documented, resisted, and disrupted ICE operations in her city. According to the New York Post, “the group started out as a very loose confederation of anti-ICE activists, but has recently aligned itself with more radical organizations including Twin Cities Ungovernables.”
As a member of this group, and as part of her activism, Good was “trained against these ICE agents,” the New York Post reported. Sadly, this is the problem with left-wing radicals. Common sense should dictate that a mother of three, including a 6-year-old child, should not be engaging in such activist rituals.
As the New York Post reported, Good’s 6-year-old child attended Southside Family Charter School, which apparently is a bastion of radical left-wing indoctrination and activism. The school has been in operation since 1972 and is “unabashedly dedicated to social justice education,” as the New York Post cited, in quoting the school’s co-founder, Susie Oppenheim, in a since-deleted Southside Pride article. Tangentially, this would also help explain why Minneapolis is such a far-left region of the country — they start the brainwashing in children from a young age.
For example, a brief look at the school’s website shows precisely the magnitude of far-left indoctrination that students, and presumably parents, are subjected to. Consider the following passage, which explains why the school is unique. Under the section, “A School That Puts Social Justice First,” it reads, “We integrate social justice into every grade level, telling the stories of the people, not the people in power, and helping students understand history and their role in making the world a better place.”
One could only surmise that each student receives their own sickle and hammer upon graduation.
For adults, the radical indoctrination occurs in many far-left-wing organizations, many of which have funded, organized, and deployed members to protests in cities around the nation. Such demonstrations, often described as spontaneous grassroots movements, are little more than the sycophantic activities of a dangerously well-organized and well-funded global network.
Organizations such as CODEPINK, Indivisible, the Party for Socialism and Liberation, the Communist Party USA, the A.J. Muste Foundation for Peace and Justice, and many others train acolytes and disciples, calling on them to engage in protests and demonstrations to advance far-left, radical causes. And most always, you’ll see the symbols of communism proudly displayed at every demonstration.
They yearn for dissension, chaos, and vociferous demonstrations. They seek to mold the minds of Americans and influence their public opinions through demonstrations, protests, and frequent violence. Collateral damage, such as the life of Good, is used to dramatize the “ruthlessness” of their opposition, with the hope of persuading people that their ideals and principles should be prioritized. It’s a racket and a dangerous one at that.
EDITORIAL: DEMOCRATIC ANTI-ICE RHETORIC IS GETTING PEOPLE KILLED
Sowing the seeds of discontent toward ICE is radical left-wing behavior. They seek to overthrow the current system and view law enforcement officers who are upholding federal law as oppressors. From Marx to Vladimir Lenin’s Bolsheviks to Joseph Stalin to Mao Zedong’s Great Cultural Revolution to New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s “warmth of collectivism,” the Left has been doing it for over 100 years. It is an inherent evil that is a threat to the cherished ideals, freedoms, rights, and liberties of the United States. And, alarmingly, as the election of Mamdani showed, its appeal is gaining traction in the U.S.
Renee Good is the latest victim of the Left’s cult of ideology. Unfortunately, she won’t be the last. It is a dangerous and seductive ideology that uses its followers like pawns and disposable objects to accomplish its goals. Her death exemplifies the dangers of adherence to these ideologies.
