A Wisconsin man pleaded guilty on Thursday to killing his parents last year and stealing their money to fund his plot to assassinate President Donald Trump, who survived two assassination attempts before returning to the White House for a second term.
Nikita Casap, 18, entered his guilty plea on two counts of first-degree intentional homicide in Waukesha County Circuit Court. The defendant is accused of murdering his stepfather, Donald Mayer, and his mother, Tatiana Casap, last February.
As part of the plea deal, prosecutors dropped seven other charges related to the crime.
Nikita Casap faces two sentences of life in prison for the murders. He is set to be sentenced on March 5. His trial was previously scheduled to start that week.
The presiding judge could grant parole to Casap after he serves 20 years in prison on each count, but the district attorney in charge of the prosecution intends to push the judge to deny parole. Calling Casap a “danger to the community,” the prosecutor said she doesn’t want him to be released in the future if he gets rehabilitated.
Casap shot his stepfather and mother at their home in Waukesha on or around Feb. 11, 2025. He was arrested in Kansas on Feb. 28, 2025, after fleeing in his stepfather’s vehicle with $14,000 in cash, jewelry, passports, his stepfather’s gun, and the family dog. For nearly two weeks before embarking on the cross-country road trip, the teenager lived with his parents’ decomposing bodies.
Authorities say Casap murdered his parents to get the money for carrying out his assassination plot against Trump. To overthrow the federal government, he bought a drone and explosives.
A federal search warrant alleged he wrote a manifesto about his plan, which he communicated to others. He was in contact with an unknown Russian individual, who talked about Casap’s departure from the United States to Ukraine via text messages.

Investigators also uncovered that Casap had materials on his phone related to the “Order of the Nine Angles.” The FBI describes the group as a “satanic cult that encourages violence, terrorism, sexual abuse, and child pornography,” adding it “aims to incite chaos and violence in western civilization.”
In the reported manifesto, Casap said “getting rid of the president and perhaps the vice president” is “guaranteed to bring in some chaos.” He later added, “Point being this manifesto is specifically for the attack that targets Trump.”
